Upper Caledonia River


In spring 2019, Dave Matters and I ventured up to our old playground, the High Plains above Licola, and knocked out a ‘corka’ white water trip down the rarely done upper Caledonia.

With a 10km+ drag in from Mount Tamboritha saddle, we were blessed with a 3 day continual grade 2/3 white water all the way down to near Licola. It’s as good as it gets in your own backyard. Great river. Great wilderness. Great weather. Great mate.
